MONUMENT FOR A SETTLEMENT — ENFIELD ISLAND VILLAGE
2014
Three current conditions of Enfield Island Village were chosen to generate a form for the monument - A constructed historical narrative in an area which became an 'island' in the 1970s, and only became a living community, a ‘village’, in the 2000s when the first residents arrived. - The dominance of pylons on the islands landscape and views. - The nature of the modern housing - a timber frame and a skin of brick, tile and glass.
